Hello Potential Schoolhouse Rockers

Well for all of you ACYI students who are interested in auditioning, we recommend that you do. Being a part of a show isn't about what part you play, how many lines you have or how many minutes you are on stage; its about having a good time and making new friends. This show is upbeat and super fun! We hope to see you all afterschool Tuesday March 5th for your auditions. Just come and we will give you a small verse to sing. MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR PARENT PERMISSION SLIP. This is very important, without it you will not able to try-out. If you lose yours or your friend wants one, go to the office. Read it, fill it out, have your parents sign it and bring it on Tuesday. It's that simple. Have a great week and see you Tuesday.

Welcome

Well ACYI has now received and will be passing out the parent permission/audition forms this week. So for those of you who are curious, this show will be a lot of fun. The show follows a group of kids in home room who discover a TV and suddenly, the cartoon hit, Schoolhouse Rock, becomes Live. As they put aside differences and personal problems they develop new found friendships while dancing to their favorite hit songs such as- Just a Bill, Conjunction Junction, The Preamble and many more. But of course Ms. Schwartz, their homeroom teacher, wants to ruin this day. Come and be apart of the most interesting day in Spilled Milk Middle School history.
Auditions will be March 5 with callbacks by invitations 6,7,8 of March by necessity. These are potential callbacks and are by invitation. We may not need all 3 days but if we do please keep them open. You don't need to prepare anything for auditions we will have everything you need. You must have the permission slip signed in order to audition.
If there are any questions you may post them here and we will respond as soon as possible.
We look forward to working with you!

Calling all Student Directors

Student Director Interviews for Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr.

We are holding interviews for student directors for the ACYI musical for the following areas:

Choreography- you will be responsible for small or large group numbers. Your students will range from no dance experience to several years. Must be able to teach and choreograph for all levels.

Stage Management- you will be responsible for all the behind-the-scene aspects. You will be child herding and cue calling. Must be able to multi-task and problem solve.

Music- you will be responsible for individual soloist. You will be a personal role-model to 1 to 2 students. You will also assist with the large group numbers, but your responsibility will be focused to the soloists. Must be able to play and read basic music.

Interviews will be held on Friday, February 15th, after school. Sign-ups will be for every 5 minutes. Priority will be made for those with extenuating circumstance, please inform Mrs. Day. Be prepared with a resume and a smile. Your contribution this show is critical and you must be prepared to commit to several afternoons a week. You will be a mentor and example to these students, so a high level of character and professionalism is absolutely necessary, but don’t think we are going to forget about personality. We are looking for proactive students. Be yourself. Best of luck to you all.
