Character List & Break Down

Speaking Roles-

Aladdin- A street rat who turns into the fake Prince Ali in attempts to woo Jasmine

Genie- A loud and outgoing guy who has been trapped in a lamp for 10,000 years

Iago- A parrot, Jafar's trusty sidekick

Jafar-  The Sultan's right hand man, an evil sorcerer

Jasmine- A rebellious princess who wants to live her life

Razoul- The captain of Jafar's guards

Storytellers- (6-8) They act as narrators and interact with both the audience as well as the actors

Sultan- Father of Jasmine, an old man who loves his daughter


Dancing roles-

Abu- Aladdin's monkey sidekick

Dancers- (8-12) gypsy dancers, Genie's assistants and more

Magic Carpet- Acrobatic and dancing rug

Rajah- Jasmine's loyal and acrobatic tiger  


Boys in Blue, Girls in Red, Either in Purple 
 

The Ensemble has many varying roles, such as Guards, villagers, princes, people in the parade and more. The other minor speaking/singing/dancing parts that will be found from the Ensemble during rehearsals.
